New Delhi, Dec 20 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended two additional absconders linked to the kidnapping and horrific murder of Dinesh Pusu Gawade in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district.
The apprehended individuals, both affiliated with the banned CPI (Maoist) terrorist group, are recognized as Raghu (alias Pratap, Irpa, Muddella, Sailu), hailing from Nizamabad district in Telangana, and Shankar Mahaka, a local from Gadchiroli.
Dinesh Gawade, a resident of Laheri village in Bhamragarh taluka of Gadchiroli, was kidnapped and murdered in November 2023 by CPI (Maoist) operatives under the suspicion of being a police informant and having ties with the RSS. His abduction occurred while he was in Pengunda village to partake in a sports event.
The investigation reveals that Gawade was slain with a sharp weapon. The assailants left a note at the scene, accusing him of being a police informant. Their motivation was to instill fear among the local populace and prevent them from divulging any information regarding Maoist activities to security forces.
The NIA took over the investigation from the Gadchiroli Police in October 2024.
Previously, the agency filed charges against four individuals -- Doba Wadde, Ravi Pallo, Sattu Mahaka, and Komati Mahaka -- for their roles in this heinous crime. The charge sheet was submitted in January this year, implicating these four CPI (Maoist) members under various sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Ongoing investigations are intensifying as the probe agency aims to unveil the full conspiracy surrounding the brutal murder of Dinesh Pusu Gawade.
