The individual in custody, Apeh Nnanna Malachy, 39, hails from Enuguezike, Nigeria. He had remained in India beyond the expiration of his medical visa.

Officials indicated that on October 3, they received information regarding a suspicious foreign individual in the Nangal Raya and Vasant Kunj South locality.
Upon intercepting and verifying the individual's status, it was confirmed that Malachy had entered India on March 15, 2021, on a medical visa, which lapsed on May 24, 2021, according to police reports.
He had been living unlawfully in Delhi's Burari region but recently relocated to Mahipalpur due to heightened police activity.
After his apprehension at PS Vasant Kunj South, all required legal processes were followed.
"Following a thorough inquiry, all legal formalities were finalized, leading to the commencement of his deportation through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in New Delhi," officials reported.
This operation is part of a wider strategy by the South West District Police to combat illegal immigration and improve public safety.
