Bhagalpur (Bihar), Nov 9 (NationPress) BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticized the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his recent dance jibe aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dubey remarked that the Congress MP "shows no respect" for Indian civilization and culture, attributing this to the fact that the Gandhi family "failed to instill good values" in him.
Last week, Gandhi claimed that PM Modi would do "anything for votes," stating, "If you ask Narendra Modi to dance in exchange for your votes, he will dance on stage."
Shortly after this, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi was spotted participating in a traditional dance with Tharu tribal women in the West Champaran district of Bihar, which is gearing up for elections.
In response, Nishikant Dubey expressed in an interview with IANS, "If Priyanka Gandhi dances well, that’s commendable, as she is our fellow MP. However, the way Rahul Gandhi spoke about the Prime Minister is quite disrespectful and subjective. Whenever his (Rahul Gandhi’s) parents visited the Northeast, they were also seen dancing. Were they doing it for votes?"
He further criticized the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition for showing "no regard" for Indian civilization and culture.
"This statement indicates that Rahul Gandhi is indifferent to Indian culture and civilization. Making such remarks about the Prime Minister signifies that the Gandhi family failed to impart good values to Rahul, leaving us to question his character," Dubey asserted.
Meanwhile, the BJP has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the Congress MP's comments, alleging a breach of the Model Code of Conduct and a disrespect to the dignity of the Prime Minister's office.
The party has characterized Gandhi's comments, including his suggestion that the Prime Minister could "perform Bharatnatyam on stage for votes," as inappropriate and unbecoming of a national leader.
The BJP is urging the election body to take swift action against Gandhi.
