New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) Janata Dal (United) MP and prominent figure Sanjay Kumar Jha on Monday expressed strong confidence in the performance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He firmly stated that Nitish Kumar will reassume the role of Chief Minister, highlighting the alliance's unity and its dedication to the state’s progress.
“Nitish Kumar will take on the role of Chief Minister, and we will operate under his guidance,” Jha mentioned during his conversation with IANS, following the NDA's official announcement regarding its seat-sharing strategy.
As per the seat-sharing deal, both the BJP and JD(U) will vie for 101 seats each. Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) has been allocated 29 seats, while Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) will contest six seats each.
Jha commended the collaboration among NDA partners, emphasizing that the process was efficient and consensus-based.

While contrasting the NDA's unity with the opposition Mahagathbandhan, Jha remarked: “On the other side, in the Mahagathbandhan alliance, I doubt there is any visible clarity or decisive action.”
In response to the disappointment voiced by some NDA members, including Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and RLM leader Upendra Kushwaha, Jha acknowledged the sentiments but stressed the importance of prior agreement.
“Many have shared their thoughts online, and all statements have surfaced. Naturally, individuals feel that additional concessions would have been preferable. However, everything was settled beforehand, and this decision was made post-agreement,” he clarified.
Previously, RLM leader Upendra Kushwaha, whose party received only six seats, shared an emotional note on X, seeking forgiveness from supporters.
“I seek your forgiveness… I realize this decision may hurt the sentiments of thousands—millions—of people… There are constraints and limitations,” Kushwaha expressed.
Despite indications of discontent, Jha downplayed any significant rift within the alliance and remained optimistic about the NDA’s electoral prospects.
“I am confident that our performance will surpass the results of 2010,” he added, referring to the landmark victory of the JD(U)-BJP alliance in that election year.
