Why Should North India Support Upendra Kushwaha's Campaign?

Patna, Sep 5 (NationPress) The national president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), Upendra Kushwaha, emphasized on Friday the necessity for the public to back his campaign, 'Constitutional Rights – Delimitation Reform Maharally', not solely for Bihar but for the benefit of the entire North India, as they strive for equitable political representation in the upcoming delimitation process.

“The citizens of Bihar must rally behind this initiative. This is not limited to Bihar; it encompasses the entire North India in securing its rightful representation within the political landscape of our country,” stated the RLM leader during the 'Constitutional Rights – Delimitation Reform Maharally' at the Miller High School ground in Patna, which marked the fourth stop of their campaign following Vikramganj, Muzaffarpur, and Gaya.

In his address, Kushwaha placed significant emphasis on the impending delimitation exercise slated for 2026, underlining its importance for just political representation.

“The allocation of seats in Parliament and Assemblies should reflect population counts. We will persist until we achieve our goals regarding Constitutional Rights and Delimitation Reform,” he asserted.

Thousands of supporters from all 38 districts of Bihar attended the grand rally.

Kushwaha refuted claims that the rally was a display of political muscle ahead of the assembly elections.

“If I required a show of strength in Patna, even Gandhi Maidan would not suffice. This rally is not about elections; it’s about constitutional rights and reforms,” he clarified.

Kushwaha honored the legacy of socialist leader Jagdev Prasad, asserting that the political mission should remain with the same marginalized groups he dedicated his life to serve.

“The people of Bihar have always upheld my dignity, and they will continue to do so,” he added.

The RLM chief reminded attendees of his history of advocating for public-interest issues.

Out of his previous 25-point demand for education reform, most have been executed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

From his 14-point charter in Valmikinagar, four major requests have been fulfilled, including increasing the student credit card limit from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh and conducting a caste census.

He also took credit for proposing that judicial vacancies be filled through open examinations rather than the collegium system, noting that this matter has gained attention even from the President.

Without specifying names, Kushwaha criticized opposition leaders: “Dancing on the banks of the Ganga does not qualify one as Chief Minister. If that were the case, the country’s top dancer would be Prime Minister.”

Nonetheless, he commended the efforts of the NDA governments at both the Centre and in Bihar, stating they are addressing public-interest issues and enjoy broad support.
