Patna, Sep 5 (NationPress) On the birth anniversary of socialist leader Jagdev Prasad, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, organized a political unity rally at the New Stadium in Fazalganj, Sasaram, asserting that the ruling BJP will not permit Nitish Kumar to assume the role of Chief Minister of Bihar again.
During his speech, Tejashwi sharply criticized the ruling NDA government in Bihar, labeling it a “junk government” that has “exhausted its tenure.”
He directed personal jabs at CM Nitish Kumar, claiming that age has overtaken him, rendering him incapable of effectively leading Bihar.
Tejashwi also referenced Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, suggesting that the BJP has made it clear that Nitish Kumar will not regain the Chief Minister position.
“Nitish Kumar is thoroughly ensnared in a quagmire, and the BJP will systematically retaliate against him,” he stated.
Challenging the NDA’s slogan of a double engine government, Tejashwi remarked: “In this double engine administration, one engine is fueled by corruption and the other by crime.”
The rally saw the presence of numerous senior RJD leaders, including former minister Alok Mehta, MP Sudhakar Singh, former minister Anita Devi, MLA Rajesh Gupta, and MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh.
The event was led by local RJD figure Shiv Shankar Kushwaha.
As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, opposition parties are amplifying their outreach efforts to solidify their voter base.
Choosing Sasaram in the Shahabad region holds significant political weight, as this area has historically been a stronghold for the RJD and its allies, achieving notable results in the 2020 Assembly elections.
The INDIA Bloc is now striving to transform this regional strength into a broader state-wide movement.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Shahabad belt reaffirmed its allegiance to the opposition coalition.
The Karakat seat was clinched by Rajaram Singh Kushwaha of CPI-ML, Buxar went to Sudhakar Singh of RJD, and Ara was secured by Sudama Prasad of CPI-ML.
This performance has encouraged the opposition to regard Shahabad as a launching pad for its state-level campaign.
Tejashwi Yadav, in collaboration with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, recently concluded the Voter Adhikar Yatra, which also commenced from Sasaram.
The repeated choice of Shahabad for significant programs emphasizes its role as a stronghold for opposition politics.
As Nitish Kumar and the NDA ramp up their campaign promises, including major job announcements and welfare initiatives, the Shahabad region is poised for a surge in political activity as both factions work to solidify their support prior to the elections.
