Hyderabad, Sep 5 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Friday that the state government is dedicated to addressing land-related challenges and rebuilding public confidence in the revenue system.

During the event named ‘Koluvula panduga’, he distributed appointment letters to Gram Panchayat Officers (GPOs).

He strongly criticized the former BRS administration, alleging they dismantled the VRO and VRA system to hide significant land frauds. The Chief Minister accused the KCR government of depicting revenue officials as criminals and thieves to mask their own wrongdoings over a decade.

He asserted that the KCR administration initiated the Dharani portal, which resulted in the acquisition of valuable lands throughout the state. He recounted a disturbing incident where a frustrated farmer, unable to resolve his land ownership issues, protested at a Revenue department office in Ibrahimpatnam, even setting an official on fire with petrol.

In another distressing case, a victim threw a Mangalasutra at officials in Sircilla. The public anger stemmed from the Dharani 'virus' caused by previous rulers, not the officials, the CM clarified.

In urging the newly appointed GPOs, CM Revanth Reddy asked them to expose the misdeeds of the prior government, stating that as promised by the Congress, the people’s government has discarded Dharani into the Bay of Bengal and implemented the Bhu Bharati Act to resolve public grievances transparently.

The CM criticized the BRS leaders for dismantling the entire revenue system to evade legal accountability. “Should we not hold accountable those responsible for the collapse of the Rs 1 lakh crore Kaleshwaram project within just three years of its construction?” he queried.

The Chief Minister called on the GPOs to fulfill their responsibilities in connecting the government with the underprivileged. The primary aim of appointing these officers was to alleviate the concerns of the poor. “You are all integral to the formation of Telangana and the People’s Government. Strive to prevent the government from garnering a negative reputation by diligently enforcing the Bhu Bharati Act and addressing Sada Bainama land rights,” he urged.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the struggles in Telangana’s historical context—led by prominent figures such as Komurambheem, Chakali Ailamma, and Ravi Narayan Reddy—were fundamentally about land rights. The State has been a pivotal area for movements like the Bhoodan Movement, which aimed to distribute thousands of acres to the impoverished.
