Jaipur, Sep 5 (NationPress) The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) took place on Friday at SMS Stadium, resulting in several pivotal decisions shaping the future of cricket in the state.
According to D.D. Kumawat, the Convenor of the Adhoc Committee, this marked the first time in two years that cricket representatives from all 33 districts convened on a unified platform.
A significant announcement was the acceleration of the construction of a new international-standard cricket stadium in Chomp, Jaipur.
Additionally, the AGM resolved to annul elections conducted in the newly formed districts, along with all resolutions from previous Adhoc and other committees.
The Adhoc Committee also stated that stadiums will be constructed in all 33 district cricket centers across Rajasthan.
“This initiative will guarantee that aspiring cricketers statewide have access to top-notch facilities, allowing them to train and exhibit their skills on suitable sporting grounds,” Kumawat remarked.
A committee has been established under the leadership of Adhoc Committee member Ashish Tiwari to oversee this project.
Tributes were paid during the meeting to late international Test players from Rajasthan, including Hanumant Singh, Parthasarathi Sharma, and Salim Durrani.
Former officials who significantly contributed to BCCI and Rajasthan cricket—such as Maharana Bhagwat Singh, P.M. Rungta, Raj Singh Dungarpur, Kamal Morarji, Kishan Rungta, Manvendra Singh, Rajendra Singh Rathore, Ashok Ohri, and Rakesh Agarwal—were also honored.
The Adhoc Committee underscored that all identified financial discrepancies in Rajasthan cricket will be thoroughly investigated.
Furthermore, preparations will commence shortly to conduct new elections for the Rajasthan Cricket Association, beginning with district elections. Through these decisions, the RCA is paving the way for structural reforms, infrastructure enhancement, and a renewed emphasis on reinforcing cricket at the grassroots level throughout the state.
