Jaipur, Oct 17 (NationPress) The ongoing discord within the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) remains unresolved. Tensions escalated between committee members and convener DD Kumawat during the proceedings of Friday's ad hoc committee, with the conflict now being referred to the Lokpal.
Kumawat firmly addressed the corruption allegations against him, stating, "If the charges are substantiated, I will resign voluntarily." Meanwhile, accusations arose from members who claimed Kumawat has been operating independently. Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar, an ad hoc committee member, spoke to the media in Jaipur, alleging that Kumawat missed the meeting and has been making decisions without the required agreement from all four committee members.
Alongside Ashish Tiwari and Pinkesh Jain, Khinvsar held a press conference, asserting that Kumawat bypassed established protocols. "DD Kumawat had no authority to disqualify the Jodhpur District Cricket Association (DCA)," Khinvsar claimed, indicating that neither the disqualification nor the appointment of the ombudsman was discussed with the members.
He highlighted that there have been no official meetings for the last three and a half months, resulting in unilateral decision-making. "We will now determine the makeup of the selection committee," Khinvsar added. He noted that he, Tiwari, and Pinkesh Porwal were present at Friday's meeting, while the fourth member, Mohit Yadav, was absent.
Later, DD Kumawat arrived at the RCA office to defend himself, calling the allegations unfounded. "Those who convened the meeting lacked authority," he insisted. "I only received the notice late last night via email. Furthermore, they are under suspension due to a High Court ruling." Kumawat stressed that the meeting was not urgent and should have been announced with a minimum of seven days' notice.
"Dhananjay Singh is like a younger brother to me, but he needs to adhere to the law," he clarified, emphasizing that all tender-related activities remain under the ad hoc committee's jurisdiction. He added that one of the three members who attended the meeting was suspended, invalidating the meeting's outcomes. "If the corruption allegations against me are confirmed, I will resign. The Lokpal is already investigating, and I will comment only after their conclusions," Kumawat reiterated.
The RCA's ad hoc committee has been embroiled in disputes over authority and decision-making for several months. This prolonged internal strife has begun to disrupt Rajasthan's cricketing operations, postponing upcoming tournaments and leaving players uncertain about their representation for the state.
