Bhubaneswar, July 24 (NationPress) On Thursday, the government of Odisha sanctioned 23 new industrial projects across 12 districts, representing a broad spectrum of strategically vital sectors, with an overall investment estimated at approximately Rs 5,000 crore.
The state government, in an official announcement, described this approval as a crucial advancement towards achieving the vision of Samrudha Odisha by 2036.
“Emphasizing its dedication to fostering a strong investment ecosystem, the 138th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, endorsed 23 new investment proposals totaling Rs 4,982.66 crore, which are expected to create 11,933 jobs across the state’s 12 districts,” reported the state government.
These approvals encompass critically important sectors such as Apparel & Textiles, Steel & Downstream Industries, Food & Beverages, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power & Renewable Energy, IT & ITES, Tourism, and Aerospace & Defence, showcasing the government’s comprehensive approach to balanced regional growth and sustainable industrial development.
“This current surge in investments underscores the state’s progressive policy framework, enhanced ease of doing business, and a transparent growth strategy under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, aimed at evolving Odisha into a dynamic economic hub by 2036,” the government added.
The SLSWCA has approved plans for establishing a large-scale garment manufacturing unit in Khordha by KPR Mill Limited, which intends to invest Rs 350 crore. This unit, expected to produce 46.8 million pieces annually, aims to generate 5,000 jobs.
In the Aerospace and Defence sector, the Odisha government has given the green light to BonV Technology Pvt. Ltd. for the creation of an advanced Drone Park in Khordha, designed as an integrated UAV ecosystem for research, development, manufacturing, and training.
The company is set to invest Rs 300 crore and generate 760 jobs. This cutting-edge industrial initiative positions Odisha as a frontrunner in drone technology within India.
Additionally, among the other notable projects approved by the clearance authority is a 0.21 MTPA integrated steel plant to be established in Sundargarh with an investment of Rs 620 crore.
