Bhubaneswar, Nov 4 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida, responded emphatically to the allegations of betrayal made by former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik against the BJP-led state government. She asserted that the citizens of Nuapada and the women involved in Mission Shakti would provide a strong rebuttal to the Biju Janata Dal for its neglect of the area during its 24-year governance.

“It appears he has finally grasped the meaning of betrayal! The residents of Nuapada are gearing up to respond to @Naveen_Odisha for breaching their trust throughout his 24 years in office. The Subhadra sisters (beneficiaries of the flagship Subhadra scheme) will undoubtedly express their discontent towards Naveen Patnaik in the forthcoming elections for consistently letting down the women of Mission Shakti,” Parida posted on her X account on Tuesday.

In further remarks aimed at the Leader of Opposition, she stated that the BJP government has remained truthful in its promises, emphasizing that the people of Nuapada will vote based on their confidence in the 500-day governance.

She expressed confidence that voters would support the double engine, capable BJP administration in the upcoming Nuapada by-election, scheduled for November 11, necessitated by the passing of Rajendra Dholakia on September 8.

During a public meeting in the Komna block of Nuapada district on Monday, the BJD president criticized the government for its unfulfilled pledges, including 300 units of free electricity, a pension of ₹3,500 for every elderly citizen, job creation for 100 youths in each panchayat, timely delivery of urea fertilizer to farmers, and addressing the issue of illegal crop procurement deductions.

Former CM Patnaik also claimed, “The BJP came to power in the state through ‘vote theft’. Now, they have stolen our candidate. This is a betrayal of the people of Nuapada and the Biju Janata Dal. There is significant resentment among the populace regarding this, and they will respond to this betrayal with their votes.”
