“The J&K government is coordinating with the authorities of the states from which these alarming reports are surfacing. I’m also engaging with other Chief Ministers in these states and have urged them to exercise increased vigilance,” he posted on X.

The Chief Minister's remarks were a response to a statement made by Imran Nabi Dar, spokesperson for the ruling National Conference (NC), who called for the Chief Minister’s action after distressing videos of Kashmiris facing harassment circulated on social media.

Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message to the “enemies” of the nation, asserting that India will “identify, trace, and punish” every terrorist and their affiliates, pursuing them to the “ends of the Earth.”

PM Modi emphasized that the entire nation stands united in mourning for the victims of this cowardly act of terror.

“This attack was not just against unarmed tourists; the enemies of the nation have audaciously targeted the soul of India. I want to clarify that those responsible for this terrorist attack and those who orchestrated it will face a punishment beyond their imagination. We will ensure justice,” declared the Prime Minister.

“I assure the world -- India will identify, trace, and punish every terrorist and their supporters. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. The spirit of India will remain unbroken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to ensure justice prevails. The entire nation stands firm in this resolve. All who believe in humanity stand with us,” PM Modi asserted.

On Tuesday, at least 26 tourists lost their lives when gunmen indiscriminately opened fire on innocent civilians in Baisaran in Jammu and Kashmir.

Eyewitness reports indicate that a band of heavily armed terrorists emerged from nearby forests and began firing at civilians, predominantly tourists.

Baisaran is a serene meadow located three to four kilometers from the Pahalgam market, accessible only by horse as there is no motorable road.

Prime Minister Modi returned to New Delhi on Wednesday morning after shortening his trip to Saudi Arabia due to the terror attack.

He held a brief meeting with NSA Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the airport. PM Modi condemned the terror attack on Tuesday, emphasizing that the perpetrators will face justice and reaffirming India’s unyielding commitment to combat terrorism.
