Bhopal, Sep 8 (NationPress) On the momentous occasion of his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Madhya Pradesh to lay the foundation stone for a 'PM MITRA' textile park in the Dhar district on September 17, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday.
During his stay in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi will also initiate the nationwide 'Seva Pakhwada' and 'Healthy Woman, Empowered Family' campaigns, according to a statement from Chief Minister Yadav.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Madhya Pradesh to lay the foundation for the nation's first 'PM MITRA' park in the tribal-rich district of Dhar on September 17. This is yet another significant gift for the state," the Chief Minister stated, adding that PM Modi will also launch the 'Seva Pakhwada' campaign.
This marks the second time that Prime Minister Modi will celebrate his birthday in Madhya Pradesh, often referred to as the "laboratory" of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), where yet another major project will commence.
Madhya Pradesh, known as the 'tiger state', experienced a historic milestone in wildlife conservation when PM Modi released eight Namibian cheetahs at Kuno National Park to commemorate his 72nd birthday on September 17, 2022.
This event was pivotal, as it marked nearly eight decades since the last cheetah was hunted to extinction in India, with these cheetahs brought from Africa to restore the species' legacy.
Despite earlier concerns about the success of the world's first intercontinental wildlife translocation under 'Project Cheetah', the population of cheetahs has grown from 20 to 30 over the past years, showcasing its success.
In total, 20 cheetahs were transported in two phases—eight from Namibia on September 17, 2022, and 12 from South Africa on February 23, 2023. Currently, there are 19 Indian-born cheetah cubs at Kuno National Park.
With the cheetah population now at 30, five have been relocated to the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, further demonstrating the development in wildlife conservation in Madhya Pradesh.
On his upcoming visit on September 17, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the 'PM MITRA' park, which is anticipated to significantly reform the textile industry within the state.
PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Parks are a government initiative designed to bolster the textile sector by creating large-scale integrated industrial infrastructure.
These parks aim to attract investments, generate employment, and enhance export potential by consolidating the entire textile value chain at a single location.
Seven sites have been selected for these parks, including Virudhnagar in Tamil Nadu, Warangal in Telangana, Navsari in Gujarat, Kalaburagi in Karnataka, Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, and Amravati in Maharashtra.
