New Delhi, June 21 (NationPress) As the third flight under Operation Sindhu landed in Delhi from Iran, close to 290 Indians, among them 190 from Jammu and Kashmir, were received with immense patriotic spirit and emotional gratitude.
Passengers, waving Indian flags, chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ at the Delhi airport, conveying their sincere appreciation to the Indian government for facilitating their safe return amidst rising tensions between Iran and Israel.
The returnees were accommodated in luxury hotels and expressed that the arrangements were “outstanding.”
“We were confident that the Indian government stood by us. They ensured our safe return to our homeland,” shared Alia Batul, one of the returnees, with IANS.
Shabnam Zehra, who found herself stranded in Mashhad, stated, “Only due to the Indian government have we returned safely. We were frightened, but assistance arrived promptly.”
Maulana Sayeed, overwhelmed with emotion, commended India’s diplomatic efforts. “Conditions were challenging in Iran. However, the embassy in Tehran and our ambassador were very supportive. We are at a loss for words to express our gratitude.”

Among them, 190 were from Jammu Kashmir, with others hailing from Haryana, Delhi, and West Bengal. Their smiles are our greatest reward.”
He extended his thanks to the Iranian government for permitting the use of its airspace and recognized the assistance from Armenia and Turkmenistan in ensuring the safe transit of Indians. “The safety, security, and welfare of Indian nationals abroad is our utmost priority,” Chatterjee stressed. He also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to evacuate more Indians still in Iran.
As tensions escalate between Iran and Israel, the Indian government is negotiating with Israel to bring back Indians from there as well.
“Discussions are in progress with Israeli authorities. Very soon, arrangements will be made to repatriate our citizens from Israel too,” Chatterjee assured.
