New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Congress leader Pawan Khera has emphatically urged the Indian government to reject any new financial aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Pakistan, citing its persistent backing of terrorism.
In a statement to IANS on Friday, Khera remarked, "We had previously made this demand ten days ago, urging the Government of India to adopt a firm stance. A nation that openly protects terrorists should not be eligible for IMF funding."
His comments arise as the IMF Executive Board is set to evaluate Islamabad's request for assistance under a climate resilience initiative, alongside the initial review of an ongoing $7 billion bailout package.
