New Delhi, May 8 (NationPress) The President of AIMIM and MP from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Thursday called upon the Central government to initiate a global campaign against The Resistance Front (TRF), identified as the orchestrator behind the Pahalgam terror attack.
During an all-party assembly organized by the Centre, he praised the armed forces and the government for their efforts in Operation Sindoor.
After the meeting, he informed the media that the United Nations Security Council should be pressed to classify the TRF as a terrorist entity.
Owaisi also urged the Centre to engage with the United States to have the TRF recognized as a foreign terrorist organization.
"Having established a trade agreement with the UK that will reduce tariffs, we should request the UK to prohibit the TRF and impose sanctions through the UK Treasury," he stated.
During the discussions, Owaisi highlighted a speech by Hafiz Abdul Raoof, son of Hafiz Abdul Saeed, made in PoK in February, wherein he proclaimed intentions to pursue 'jihad' until 2025.
"They aim to instigate terror in India under the guise of jihad," he remarked.
Owaisi reiterated the necessity of placing Pakistan on the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The AIMIM leader emphasized that the government has a significant opportunity to embrace Kashmiris while addressing issues with Pakistan. He called for efforts to foster closer ties with the people of Kashmir, stressing the need to engage the youth.
"We need to connect with the youth," he stated.
He insisted that families of those who lost their lives due to Pakistan's shelling in Poonch should be recognized as victims of terrorism and compensated accordingly. He also called for the reconstruction of homes damaged in Uri.
Owaisi noted that Operation Sindoor was crucial, as it targeted Muridke and Bahawalpur, the centers of known terrorist groups. He pointed out that the country now faces threats on two fronts - the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the Line of Control (LoC), with 50,000 troops stationed in Galwan.
He criticized the current trade imbalance with China, advocating for leveraging China's influence to demand the extradition of wanted terrorists from Pakistan. He commended the government's response to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Owaisi further questioned Turkey's stance, asserting that if it can target Kurdish terrorists within its own borders, why it challenges India regarding its military operations.
He urged the government to harness the current national sentiment to promote unity and strengthen the nation. Referring to reports of a Rafale jet crash in Bathinda, he recommended that the government instruct the Indian Air Force to refute such claims to maintain the morale and reputation of our armed forces.
