Patna, April 14 (NationPress) In a pivotal political shift leading up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) leader and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras declared his party's separation from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The announcement was made during a ceremony in Patna celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti. "I have been in alliance with the BJP and NDA since 2014. However, as of today, there will be no further connection with NDA," Paras stated.

Paras went on to mention that his party intends to contest all 243 assembly seats in Bihar independently, signifying a courageous step to position RLJP as a significant contender in the state's politics.

"The citizens of Bihar are determined to bring about a change in the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar," said Paras, who has already toured 22 districts to mobilize grassroots support and plans to visit the remaining 16 districts soon.

In a fierce critique of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Paras labeled him as anti-Dalit and "mentally ill," highlighting the alarming increase in crimes against Dalits.

He referenced recent events in Aurangabad and Rohtas, including the incidents involving Komal Paswan and Ranjit Paswan, accusing the state government of negligence.

"On Holi day, March 14, in Aurangabad, Komal Paswan was celebrating Holi with friends when a son of a Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas leader allegedly struck her with his bike. She later died from her injuries. Alarmingly, the Nitish Kumar administration has taken no action against him," Paras remarked.

He also raised concerns regarding the murder of Ranjit Paswan by a police officer in Rohtas, asserting that the Nitish Kumar government has failed to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Additionally, Paras urged the central government to posthumously award the Bharat Ratna to Ramvilas Paswan, referring to him as the "second Ambedkar."

"Ramvilas Paswan dedicated his life to the fight for Dalit rights. He merits the nation’s highest civilian distinction," he asserted.
