Patna, Feb 12 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), under the leadership of Pashupati Kumar Paras, has declared its intention to contest every one of the 243 seats in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The party is ramping up its efforts for the 2025 elections, emphasizing grassroots organization and Dalit empowerment.
“We aim to establish a structure at each booth throughout Bihar. Consequently, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be designated in all constituencies. This strategy is designed to build a solid foundation at the grassroots level for contesting all 243 seats in Bihar,” stated Paras.
Paras also revealed plans for worker assemblies to be conducted in every assembly constituency by April 2025.
The Dalit Sena, RLJP’s faction for Dalits, will commemorate Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 in Patna. Dalit Sena members from across Bihar will convene, spotlighting RLJP’s dedication to Dalit issues.
The party is committed to combating Dalit oppression, addressing the exploitation of Chowkidar Dafadars, and advocating for the traditional business rights of the Pasi community in toddy manufacturing and sales.
RLJP’s state president Prince Raj has instructed all officials and district heads to display the party flag and nameplate at their homes. Senior party members were guaranteed that formidable RLJP candidates would be nominated in the Assembly elections.
Prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, RLJP was affiliated with the NDA alliance, with Pashupati Kumar Paras serving as a cabinet minister in PM Narendra Modi’s administration.
Nevertheless, RLJP was not allotted any seats to contest in Bihar during the Lok Sabha elections, resulting in a split. While Chirag Paswan remained with the NDA, Pashupati Paras chose to part ways.
In January, during a Chuda-Dahi feast in Patna on Makar Sankranti, Pashupati Kumar Paras extended invitations to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tej Pratap Yadav attended the gathering at Paras’ residence, stirring speculation about a potential RLJP shift towards the Mahagathbandhan.
Paras has suggested that a decision regarding alliances will be finalized as the elections approach. RLJP’s independent bid for all 243 seats signals a challenge to both the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
