Kolkata, July 21 (NationPress) A local woman, Alpana Das, reserved the guesthouse located in Anandapur, on the southern outskirts of Kolkata, where four individuals connected to the Patna hospital gangster murder case were apprehended last week. In total, ten suspects were taken into custody from various locations that same day, leading to the eventual arrest of four, who were subsequently transported to Patna by the Bihar Police.

The other six, including Alpana, were released later but remain under the vigilant watch of city law enforcement. Alpana was the only female among the ten detained.

The main suspect in the case, Tauseef, along with his cousin Yousuf Khan alias Nishu, and two accomplices, were captured at the Green Edge Regency guesthouse in Anandapur during a coordinated operation between the Bihar Police and the special task force of the West Bengal Police.

An insider from the city police disclosed that Alpana had known Nishu for quite some time. "Nishu Khan allegedly informed Alpana that they were bringing her relative to Kolkata for medical treatment and requested her to book a room in a guesthouse there," the insider revealed.

Investigations revealed that Alpana was unaware of the murder and had no knowledge of Nishu's criminal connections or prior offenses. Their acquaintance was established through social media.

Authorities noted that Alpana, hailing from the Dum Dum area in northern Kolkata, was detained but later freed as there was no substantial link to the Patna gangster murder.

The arrested individuals include Tauseef, Nishu, their caretaker Bhim Kumar, and a nurse named Harsh Kumar. They were presented before an Alipore court on Sunday, which granted Bihar Police a 48-hour transit remand.

Sources indicate that following the murder, the suspects had disposed of their weapons in Patna before escaping to Kolkata. Additionally, they were found to be in possession of forged medical documents intended to serve as an alibi for Nishu's treatment in case of any police roadblocks.

The gang members checked into the Anandapur guesthouse on Friday afternoon after failing to contact Tauseef’s friend Ehsaan at the Shukhobrishti Housing Complex in New Town or secure accommodation near Park Street in Kolkata.
