Kolkata, July 22 (NationPress) The notorious Bihar gangster Onkarnath Singh, known as Sheru, who is currently imprisoned in a correctional facility in Purulia district, West Bengal, allegedly orchestrated the murder of his rival, Chandan Mishra, in a Patna hospital with assistance from a family associate of the latter.
Sources within the West Bengal Police indicate that one of Mishra's family associates, still referred to as the “missing link,” provided essential information to Sheru regarding Chandan's parole arrangements.
According to police insiders, this missing link was also reportedly instrumental in persuading Mishra to get treated at Paras Hospital in Patna, following Sheru's directives, facilitating the execution of the murder.
Initially, Sheru and Chandan were involved in numerous criminal activities in the Buxar area of Bihar. Over time, tensions arose between them, leading to their split and the formation of rival gangs, turning former friends into bitter adversaries.
Further investigations revealed that Sheru utilized Chandan's close associate, who is currently incarcerated in Beur jail, to keep tabs on Mishra's activities. This associate played a significant role in the murder conspiracy by relaying vital information to Sheru.
Upon learning that Chandan would be granted a 15-day parole, Sheru devised a plan for his assassination.
It has come to light that Chandan sought medical counsel from his family associate, who was also linked to Sheru. Acting on Sheru's instructions, this individual advised Chandan to seek treatment at Paras Hospital. In line with this plan, Sheru commissioned Tauseef, also known as Badshah, to carry out the murder.
Tauseef, the main accused, along with three accomplices, was apprehended in Kolkata during a coordinated operation by the Bihar Police and the Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police.
According to police sources, Sheru directed Badshah to identify a suitable hospital for the crime. Badshah recommended Paras Hospital, familiar with the area as he grew up nearby. Following this, Sheru communicated the plan to Chandan's family associate, who then advised Mishra to obtain treatment at that location.
Badshah had been visiting an associate receiving treatment at Paras Hospital in the days leading up to the murder, where he discovered the hospital's inadequate security, making it an ideal target for the operation.
After the assassination of Chandan Mishra, Badshah and his accomplices crossed into Bengal, following Sheru's instructions.
The police are actively seeking the missing associate. Investigations into phone calls and WhatsApp exchanges of those arrested, including Tauseef, are underway to uncover more details about this individual.
