Amaravati, Sep 26 (NationPress) - Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been grappling with viral fever for the past four days and is set to receive medical attention in Hyderabad, as reported by his office on Friday.
Despite undergoing treatment in Mangalagiri, the intensity of his fever remains high.
He is currently dealing with discomfort caused by persistent coughing. Following medical advice, he will undergo further tests in Hyderabad, according to an official statement.
The actor-politician is expected to travel from Mangalagiri to Hyderabad today.
Pawan Kalyan fell ill following a rain-affected pre-release event for his film ‘They Call Him OG’ held in Hyderabad on Sunday.
That event at LB Stadium was marred by heavy rainfall, leaving thousands of eager fans disappointed.
Only Pawan Kalyan and director Sujeeth could address the crowd, alongside co-stars Emraan Hashmi and Priyanka Mohan.
His team reported that he has been unwell since that day, and his condition worsened after he attended an assembly session the following day.
After doctors recommended rest, he has been managing his political engagements through video conferencing.
On Thursday, Pawan Kalyan missed an event where he was scheduled to join Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in distributing appointment letters to newly selected government teachers via the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC).
He congratulated the teachers on 'X', stating, “After years of waiting for DSC, this historic moment of appointing 15,941 teachers will be remembered in the state's education history. The credit goes to the coalition government for delivering on promises made during elections.”
“Due to health issues, I cannot attend the DSC appointment letter program in person. The vital role of guiding students in government schools lies with the newly appointed teachers. I look forward to your commitment to this responsibility. Congratulations once again to the teachers who excelled in Mega DSC – 2025,” he added.
‘They Call Him OG’, a gangster drama produced by DVV Entertainment, premiered on Thursday, generating significant excitement among Pawan Kalyan's supporters across both Telugu states.
