Patna, Oct 1 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha stated on Wednesday that the rejoining of Bhojpuri film icon Pawan Singh into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will greatly enhance the strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, especially in the areas of Shahabad and Magadh.
Kushwaha, who has been instrumental in facilitating Singh’s anticipated return to the BJP, reminisced about their previous rivalry in the last Lok Sabha elections in Karakat, where both were defeated by CPI-ML candidate Rajaram Singh Kushwaha.
Speaking to journalists in Sasaram, Upendra Kushwaha remarked, “The inclusion of actor Pawan Singh into the NDA will undoubtedly benefit our coalition. The last Lok Sabha elections suffered from vote splitting, leading to unfavorable outcomes. However, in the upcoming Assembly elections, we will prevent such fragmentation, ensuring the NDA's victory across the board.”
During the 2024 Karakat Lok Sabha contest, vote division resulted in Pawan Singh finishing second, with Kushwaha in third.
He emphasized that the NDA’s strategy for the forthcoming Assembly elections is robust, and Singh’s return is a vital component of that strategy.
“Pawan Singh has consistently advocated for the NDA’s strength. His return will certainly bolster support, particularly in Shahabad and Magadh,” Kushwaha added.
The former Union Minister launched a workshop at the Veda block in Sasaram.
Just a day before, on Tuesday, Kushwaha and Singh convened in New Delhi alongside senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde.
Post this meeting, Pawan Singh also had an audience with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, sparking further political speculation within the state.
This series of discussions has ignited a surge of political activity in Bihar, with analysts suggesting that Singh’s rejoining the NDA could lead to the unification of Kushwaha and Rajput votes in the upcoming Assembly elections.
