After the meeting, Jyoti Singh made it clear that her visit was not driven by political ambitions and that she was not looking to run for office or obtain a party ticket.
In her statement to the media post-meeting, Jyoti Singh expressed, “I did not come here to pursue a ticket or engage in politics. My singular goal is to prevent other women from enduring the injustices I have faced. I aspire to be the voice for all oppressed women. This is the reason I sought to meet Prashant Kishor. Our discussion did not touch upon any electoral matters or tickets.”
In response to the meeting, Prashant Kishor stated that Jyoti Singh approached him strictly on social and humanitarian grounds.
“Jyoti Singh came to see me as a fellow Bihari woman. She did not discuss running for office or requesting a ticket. She is confronting significant injustice and wants to ensure that no other woman in Bihar experiences such challenges,” Kishor remarked.
He further noted that Jan Suraaj stands by her in her pursuit of safety and democratic rights but emphasized that the party would not involve itself in personal or family disputes.
“I advised her to fight her case within the framework of the law,” Kishor stated.
Expanding on his remarks, the founder of Jan Suraaj referred to Pawan Singh as a friend and refrained from commenting on their family dynamics.
“Pawan Singh is my friend, and I shall not comment on his family issues. However, if Jyoti Singh has come to speak with me, it’s my responsibility to listen to her from a social perspective. She has not made any personal or political requests of me,” he concluded.
