New Delhi, Oct 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday conveyed the sentiments of citizens in reaction to his recent letter to the nation during this festive period, underscoring the nation's achievements.
He noted that his letter, dispatched shortly after Diwali, extended festive wishes to fellow countrymen while highlighting significant milestones and that the feedback he received was overwhelmingly positive.
During the 127th episode of his monthly radio show, 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi remarked, "In that letter, I pointed out the accomplishments of our nation that have made this year’s festive season even more remarkable."
He shared that he was met with numerous messages from citizens across the country in response.
The Prime Minister celebrated the recent military initiatives aimed at safeguarding the nation, stating, "Operation Sindoor has genuinely instilled a sense of pride in every Indian. This year, lights of joy were illuminated even in regions where the shadow of Maoist terror had once prevailed. People yearn for the total annihilation of this Maoist threat that jeopardizes their children's futures."
Regarding the 'GST Bachat Utsav', PM Modi noted the "immense enthusiasm" among the public.
Highlighting the surge in the purchase of 'Swadeshi' goods during the festive season, he expressed, "Another uplifting aspect during the festivals this time is the substantial rise in the acquisition of 'Swadeshi' products in the markets. In the letters I received, people shared the 'Swadeshi' items they purchased."
"In my letter, I also encouraged a 10 percent decrease in the consumption of cooking oil, and I received a very encouraging response on this front as well," he added.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the influx of messages regarding cleanliness and sanitation initiatives.
He praised projects like 'The Garbage Cafe' in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, which offers meals in exchange for plastic waste. He also recognized a similar initiative by Bengaluru engineer Kapil Sharma, who initiated a campaign to rejuvenate the city’s lakes.
