New Delhi, Dec 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reflected on the pivotal and historic moments that shaped India in 2025, asserting that this year instilled a sense of greater self-confidence in the nation. He expressed optimism as the country gears up to embrace 2026 with renewed hopes and resolutions.
During his monthly radio show 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi stated, "As we approach 2026, memories from the past year flood my mind. 2025 was marked by numerous images, discussions, and achievements that united our nation. It was a year that made every Indian beam with pride."
"From national security to the sports arena, from scientific advancements to global achievements, India's presence was felt wide and far," he emphasized.
In praising the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive military actions against terrorism in May, the Prime Minister remarked, "Operation Sindoor emerged as a point of pride for every citizen. The world recognized that today's India stands firmly on its security principles."
"During Operation Sindoor, we witnessed expressions of love and devotion towards Maa Bharati from every corner of the country, showcasing our collective spirit," he added.
PM Modi also highlighted the enthusiasm surrounding the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram', noting the public's active engagement with the hashtag 'VandeMataram150'.
The year was also memorable in the realm of sports, with significant triumphs to celebrate.
"Our Men's Cricket Team clinched the ICC Champions Trophy, while our Women's Cricket Team made history by winning the World Cup for the first time. The daughters of India carved their names in history by winning the Women's Blind T20 World Cup, and our Tricolour proudly flew in the Asia Cup T20. Additionally, our para-athletes showcased that determination knows no barriers by winning numerous medals in world championships," he elaborated.
Moreover, the Prime Minister noted that India made substantial advancements in space and science, citing Shubanshu Shukla as the first Indian to reach the International Space Station.
He further mentioned the various initiatives aimed at environmental protection and wildlife conservation that characterized 2025, including the cheetah population in India exceeding 30.
"In 2025, faith, culture, and India's unparalleled heritage shone brightly. The organization of the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh at the year's outset astonished the world. At the year's end, the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya filled every Indian's heart with pride," PM Modi stated.
Emphasizing the popularity of indigenous products, he remarked, "There was a remarkable enthusiasm for Swadeshi products, with consumers favoring goods born from the hard work of our fellow Indians."
