Aizawl/Imphal, Sep 13 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Saturday that during ‘Operation Sindoor’, 'Made-in-India' weaponry played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation.
While addressing the audience in the state capitals of Mizoram and Manipur, the Prime Minister emphasized the achievements of the Indian military, their unwavering dedication, and expertise.
In Aizawl, he noted that during ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian armed forces delivered significant lessons to terrorists, showcasing the might of the nation's military and the effectiveness of 'Made in India' weapons in defending the country.
PM Modi reiterated that India stands as the fastest growing economy globally. “We are witnessing the rise of Make In India and our exports. During 'Operation Sindoor', everyone observed how our soldiers dealt with those who support terrorism. The entire nation felt immense pride in our armed forces.
“In this mission, Made-In-India weapons were instrumental in safeguarding our homeland. The advancement of our economy and manufacturing sector is vital for our national security,” he added.
Speaking to a large crowd at the historic Kangla Fort in Imphal, PM Modi acknowledged that many sons and daughters from Manipur are actively serving across various regions of the country in defense of their homeland.
He stated that during Operation Sindoor, the world observed the strength of the Indian Armed Forces.
According to PM Modi, Indian soldiers delivered such significant blows that the Pakistani army was left reeling.
He praised the brave sons and daughters of Manipur for their crucial contributions to India’s success in this operation.
In tribute to one such heroic soldier, Shaheed Deepak Chingkham, he saluted his bravery.
He assured that Deepak Chingkham’s sacrifice during 'Operation Sindoor' will always be honored by the nation.
Earlier, a government statement noted that serving with the 7th Battalion BSF, Deepak Chingkham, aged 25, made the ultimate sacrifice during 'Operation Sindoor', suffering fatal injuries from unprovoked cross-border firing along the International Boundary in the RS Pura sector of Jammu on May 10, and he succumbed to his injuries on May 11.
Deepak Chingkham and Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik, also from Manipur, were conferred the Vir Chakra on the eve of Independence Day for their significant contributions during 'Operation Sindoor'.
The Manipur government previously announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to both Squadron Leader Malik and the martyred Deepak Chingkham, both hailing from Imphal East district in Manipur.
