New Delhi, May 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a conversation with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Tuesday, extending his congratulations for the remarkable triumph of Albanese’s party in the recent General Election.

"I spoke with my friend Anthony Albanese to personally commend him on his party’s historic victory. We have committed to collaborate with renewed enthusiasm to advance the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore fresh avenues for cooperation," PM Modi shared on X following their call.

On Saturday, PM Modi had already congratulated Albanese on the Labor party’s impressive win, which secured a total of 92 seats in the lower house, marking just the third instance in Australian history where a party has achieved a victory of over 90 seats.

"Congratulations to Anthony Albanese on your decisive victory and re-election as Prime Minister of Australia! This strong mandate reflects the unwavering trust of the Australian populace in your leadership.
