New Delhi, Nov 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a journey to Johannesburg, South Africa at the request of President Cyril Ramaphosa to participate in the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced via social media that, "PM Narendra Modi has departed for Johannesburg, South Africa to attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit. He will also engage with various world leaders."

This significant summit is scheduled for November 22 and 23 in Johannesburg, a city renowned as South Africa's largest and most economically vital.

During the G20 Leaders’ Summit, PM Modi is anticipated to conduct several bilateral discussions with international leaders attending the event.

The Prime Minister's statement prior to his departure highlighted, "This summit holds particular significance as it marks the first G20 Summit hosted in Africa. Under India’s G20 Presidency in 2023, the African Union has joined the G20, a landmark achievement."
