The seasoned politician and former Central Minister fainted at Gujarat's Sabarmati Ashram during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Tuesday. Party members quickly transported him to a nearby hospital where he received immediate medical assistance.

While Chidambaram was under care at Zydus hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel paid him a visit, inquiring about his condition and confirming that all necessary arrangements were made for his top-notch healthcare.

Later that evening, he updated his followers on X, stating that his health issues were due to dehydration from the extreme heat, and all of his health parameters were normal.

Chidambaram has since recovered from this unexpected health scare and is now attending the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial on Wednesday.

It is noteworthy that the Congress party is hosting its 84th National Convention of the AICC in Ahmedabad, marking its return to the state after a 64-year hiatus. During this two-day summit, the party is strategizing for its future and preparing for upcoming elections.
