New Delhi, June 18 (NationPress) In a decisive diplomatic statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed to US President Donald Trump that there will be no external mediation concerning issues related to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), as noted by senior BJP leader and Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday.
“During the call with US President Trump today, the Prime Minister made it unequivocally clear, as he has consistently asserted domestically, that there can be no third-party or foreign intervention regarding Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK),” Sirsa stated.
He further highlighted India’s firm approach to cross-border terrorism: “Our 'Operation Sindoor' remains active, as the Prime Minister has previously mentioned. Today, he conveyed to President Trump that any terrorist act will be regarded as an act of war and will prompt immediate action from India.”
The 35-minute phone conversation between the two leaders was confirmed by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who provided additional insights.
According to Misri, PM Modi indicated that the decision to cease military action was reached through direct communication between Indian and Pakistani military channels, without any external pressure or mediation.
“India firmly rejects any external mediation on issues concerning Pakistan,” Misri added, emphasizing India’s steadfast stance on bilateral issues.
In response to criticism from the Congress party, BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari countered vigorously, stating, “Those who, during their tenure, discussed handing over Siachen to Pakistan, who proposed a clean slate for Pakistan post the 26/11 attacks, and who effectively surrendered PoK... They lack the authority to comment on foreign policy or national security.”
He continued, “The Congress Party should apologize to the nation for its repeated falsehoods. Prime Minister Modi clearly conveyed to US President Trump during their talks that no third country was involved in any mediation between India and Pakistan. There were no trade discussions, and it was Pakistan that requested a halt to 'Operation Sindoor' when the Indian Army was delivering a robust response.”
