New Delhi, May 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the PRAGATI meeting, an ICT-powered multi-modal platform designed for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. The meeting took place on Wednesday.

In a post shared on Thursday, PM Modi provided insights about the discussions that spanned various sectors including roads, power, water resources, and semiconductors.

He stated, “I chaired a PRAGATI meeting yesterday, where we reviewed projects worth over Rs. 62,000 crore, covering numerous sectors such as roads, power, water resources, semiconductors, and much more.”

The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of ensuring that all infrastructure projects are completed punctually.

“I emphasized the need for all infra projects to be finished on time. Additionally, we discussed grievances related to RERA. It is our Government’s responsibility to deliver justice to homebuyers,” said PM Modi in his post.

During this session, he reviewed three significant infrastructure projects, with a combined budget exceeding Rs 62,000 crore, covering the sectors of Road Transport, Power, and Water Resources across various States and UTs.

“Highlighting the strategic significance of these projects, he urged for collective efforts to address implementation challenges and guarantee their timely execution,” a government media release noted.

Emphasizing the detrimental effects of project delays, the Prime Minister pointed out that such hold-ups not only escalate costs but also deny citizens crucial services and infrastructure.

He called upon all participants to prioritize efficiency and accountability, underlining that timely project delivery is essential for optimizing socio-economic benefits.

During the review of public complaints related to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), the Prime Minister stressed the necessity to enhance the quality and speed of grievance resolution to ensure fairness for homebuyers.

He requested state governments to guarantee the mandatory registration of all qualified real estate projects under the RERA Act.

The Prime Minister highlighted that strict adherence to RERA guidelines is vital for rebuilding confidence in the housing sector.

PM Modi also examined exemplary practices associated with developing the Semiconductor Ecosystem in India. He mentioned that such initiatives could serve as a model for others, encouraging broader implementation across states and union territories, thereby fortifying the National Semiconductor Mission.

According to the government, as of the current PRAGATI meetings, a total of 373 projects costing approximately Rs 20.64 lakh crore have been reviewed.
