New Delhi, Nov 7 (NationPress) In a sharp response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent claims of "election chori," the BJP asserted on Friday that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha is utilizing this issue for his own political survival, thereby attempting to rationalize the party's continuous electoral losses.
Amit Malviya, who oversees the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, stated, "The first thing to grasp is why Rahul Gandhi is suddenly fixated on 'vote chori.' This has nothing to do with the Election Commission — it’s about his political existence. Rahul Gandhi wants to convince his party that he bears no responsibility for Congress's ongoing defeats."
Malviya pointed out that dissent regarding Rahul Gandhi’s inadequate leadership and the lack of electoral success is becoming increasingly vocal within the Congress.
He also criticized a couplet in Urdu that suggests: "Don't dwell on trivial matters. Instead, question why the caravan was robbed. I hold no grievances against the secrets; it’s about your leadership."
Malviya scrutinized the timing of Rahul Gandhi's recent allegations against the electoral system, suggesting that the blame should not be placed on weak leadership or ineffective strategy but rather on "vote chori." He noted, "He understands that once Congress acknowledges he cannot win elections, they will start searching for a more capable leader. After all, no one follows a leader who consistently leads to defeat," Malviya commented on platform X.
"In 2014, Rahul attributed Congress’s shortcomings to others. Following each loss, he has blamed Modi for using the ED, CBI, and Income Tax. Then came the excuse of EVMs. Now, he is targeting the Election Commission. The reality is, the optimism Congress had after the BJP secured 240 seats in the Lok Sabha has diminished following defeats in Maharashtra and Haryana," he added.
"If Bihar follows the same trajectory, as it likely will, Rahul’s leadership will again face scrutiny. That’s why he must persist in claiming — he doesn’t lose, someone orchestrates his losses. At times, it’s his party, at other times the EVM, and now the Election Commission," Malviya remarked, taking a jab at the Congress leader.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi mentioned to IANS that the Election Commission and the BJP had "failed to address" the serious allegations he had presented during a recent press conference.
"I illustrated in my presentation that the Haryana elections were not genuine elections. There was a wholesale theft of votes," he stated.
“It's important to note — there has been no response to my allegations regarding fake votes, counterfeit voter photographs, and impersonation. The BJP defends the Election Commission, yet none of my claims have been denied," he asserted.
