Bengaluru, Oct 2 (NationPress) On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who recently had a successful pacemaker implantation surgery in Bengaluru, expressing his wishes for a swift recovery.
In a message shared on X, PM Modi remarked, "I spoke to Kharge Ji, inquired about his health, and wished him a speedy recovery. I am praying for his long life and continued well-being."
Mallikarjun Kharge underwent a scheduled pacemaker implantation at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday, and his family confirmed he is set to return to work on October 3.
Priyank Kharge, Minister for RDPR, IT and BT and son of Mallikarjun Kharge, released a statement via social media X, saying, "The pacemaker implantation was a brief and minor procedure, and he has been stable since."
He added, "Kharge is expected to resume all scheduled engagements starting October 3. We are grateful for the concern, support, and affection shown by everyone."
The Congress leader was advised to undergo this procedure after experiencing fever, fatigue, and leg pain.
Currently, Kharge is being treated at MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited him at the hospital on Wednesday, inquiring about Kharge’s health and extending wishes for a quick recovery.
After visiting Kharge, Siddaramaiah informed the media that the Congress president had come for a routine check-up owing to minor discomfort.
It is noteworthy that Mallikarjun Kharge was admitted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital following complaints of fatigue and difficulty in breathing after a demanding campaign in Bihar.
Kharge is actively participating in the Bihar election campaign, vocally criticizing the BJP and PM Modi.
He has recently accused the BJP of trying to manipulate the Bihar Assembly elections through "vote theft" and urged the public to stay vigilant in protecting their voting rights.
