Mumbai, Oct 2 (NationPress) Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut, while observing Gandhi Jayanti, highlighted the crucial role of khadi in the fabric of Indian culture.
The actress emphasized the need for a self-reliant approach and its positive impact on the nation and its citizens.
She stated, “Today, I am adorned in a khadi saree and khadi blouse, which represents our indigenous attire and is gaining recognition globally as a handmade product. As our Prime Minister has pointed out, it's unfortunate that we still rely on foreign nations. The moment has arrived for us to achieve complete self-sufficiency.”
Furthermore, she challenged the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi regarding his tendency to criticize India on international stages.
She remarked, “Rahul Gandhi disparages our nation everywhere. I am not here to criticize the government for his remarks. Rather, he does not just critique the government; he condemns our country as a whole. He claims that our people are in constant conflict and questions their integrity.”
Kangana shared her sentiments on Instagram stories, beginning with a nostalgic photo of Zubeen Garg and captioning it, “#Zubeenda.”
She also posted a promotional image of the 2006 thriller Gangster, her debut in Bollywood, coupled with the song Ya Ali, performed by the late Assamese legend Zubeen Garg, as a tribute.
She wrote, “#zubeenda There is no one like you.”
Zubeen Garg tragically passed away following a scuba diving accident in Singapore last month. He was retrieved from the water by Singapore police and taken to a nearby hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. Despite extensive medical attention, the doctors could not save him.
He had traveled to Singapore for the fourth North East India festival at Suntec, which was set for September 20 and 21. Just hours prior to the tragedy, the singer had extended a heartfelt invitation to fans on his social media.
