New Delhi, June 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the Outreach Session of the G7 nations on Tuesday, coinciding with India's rise as the world's fastest-growing economy and the sole nation to achieve over 6 percent GDP growth.
According to data from the IMF, India is leading in economic advancement with a projected 6.2 percent GDP growth for 2025, significantly outpacing other G7 nations. The United States is expected to see a 1.8 percent growth rate, followed by Canada at 1.4 percent, and the United Kingdom at 1.1 percent. Japan and France are both anticipated to record a 0.6 percent GDP growth, while Italy ranks sixth among the G7 with a 0.4 percent increase, and Germany is expected to experience zero growth amid a global economic slowdown.
In terms of industrial growth, India's rate is projected at 5.9 percent for 2024, outstripping other G7 countries. Canada is expected to see a 1.2 percent increase in industrial production, followed by the US at 0.9 percent, the UK at 0.7 percent, France at 0.5 percent, Italy at 0.3 percent, Japan at 0.2 percent, and Germany with a contraction of (-0.1 percent).
Moreover, India is also leading in the services sector, boasting a purchasing managers index (PMI) of 60.1, significantly higher than Italy, which holds the highest PMI in the G7 at 54.1.
Following Italy, France has a PMI of 53.1, with the UK and Germany both at 52.9. The US stands at 51.4, Canada at 51.1, and France trails with a PMI of 50.1. The threshold of 50 is crucial as it signifies the line between expansion and contraction.
