Patna, July 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Motihari in Bihar on July 18, where he will inaugurate, lay foundation stones, and dedicate development projects valued at over Rs 7,200 crore across various sectors including rail, road, rural development, fisheries, and IT.
He will address a public gathering at around 11:30 AM.
During his visit, PM Modi will dedicate automatic signalling on the Samastipur-Bachhwara rail line to enhance train operations and will also announce the doubling of the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail sections worth Rs 580 crore for enhanced connectivity.
He will lay the foundation stone for a maintenance facility for Vande Bharat trains at Patliputra, as well as upgrades to automatic signalling and traction on the Bhatni-Chhapra Gramin rail line (114 km), along with the doubling of the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj line valued at Rs 4,080 crore. This will significantly bolster connectivity in North Bihar.
PM Modi will also launch four new Amrit Bharat trains, which include routes from Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal), Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town to Lucknow (via Bhagalpur).
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Ara bypass (NH-319) to improve connectivity with Ara-Mohania (NH-319) and Patna-Buxar (NH-922).
Moreover, the foundation stone for the four-lane Parariya-Mohania section of NH-319, worth Rs 820 crore, will be laid, connecting Ara Town to the Delhi-Kolkata national Highway 19 (Golden Quadrilateral).
These significant rail and road infrastructure projects are expected to improve regional connectivity, shorten travel times, and promote economic growth in Bihar.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the STPI facility in Darbhanga and an incubation center in Patna, aimed at fostering IT/ITES/ESDM industries and supporting start-ups, exports, and innovation within the state.
Under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, he will unveil new fish hatcheries, biofloc systems, ornamental fish farming, integrated aquaculture units, and fish feed mills throughout Bihar to enhance employment and rural livelihoods.
In terms of rural development, PM Modi will announce Rs 400 crore for 61,500 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM, distribute keys for 12,000 houses under Griha Pravesh, and release Rs 160 crore to assist 40,000 beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin.
These initiatives in fisheries, IT infrastructure, and SHG funding are poised to foster livelihood creation and empower women economically.
