"Today marks the end of a long 738 days, as the final 20 living hostages return home. This moment is significant for the people of Israel and for all who value humanity," stated IDF spokesperson Effie Defrin, as the nation celebrated the hostages' return on the eve of Simchat Torah.
India has strongly condemned the terrorism directed at Israel on October 7, 2023, and the resulting civilian casualties amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
"India has consistently advocated for the release of all hostages, a ceasefire, and a peaceful conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy," emphasized the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Additionally, India has highlighted the importance of safe, timely, and continuous humanitarian aid delivery to the affected region.
This stance has been reiterated in various bilateral and multilateral forums, including the UN, BRICS, NAM, and the Voice of Global South.
The Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister have engaged with numerous leaders worldwide, including the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Israel, as well as the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Palestine, regarding this matter.
