New Delhi, May 23 (NationPress) The Poshan Abhiyaan initiative aims to combat malnutrition among women and children, leading to enhanced health and increased economic productivity across the nation, stated Harsh Malhotra, the Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Roads, Transport and Highways, on Friday.

Malhotra emphasized the crucial role of nutrition in a child's development, asserting that proper nutrition is vital for children to achieve their maximum potential. He remarked that a nutritionally balanced diet can yield significant long-term advantages for both physical and mental growth.

“By tackling malnutrition and promoting healthy dietary habits, the Poshan Abhiyaan can significantly enhance India’s human resources, economic output, and sustainable development,” he remarked.

“The Poshan Abhiyaan is a commitment from the Modi Government aimed at achieving a noticeable decline in malnutrition along with better health, wellness, and immunity,” he continued.

During the Poshan Abhiyaan event, the Minister also distributed approximately 300 nutrition kits to beneficiaries at Aggarwal Dharamshala Bhawan, Shakarpur, Delhi.

“Poshan Abhiyaan is a vital initiative focused on combating malnutrition within the country and has endorsed a mission-mode strategy to confront this issue,” Malhotra stated.

“This campaign is directed towards children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers—highlighting the Modi Government's commitment to the comprehensive development of communities,” he added.

Malhotra praised the Poshan Tracker, which allows for real-time monitoring of nutritional services at Anganwadi Centres, where beneficiaries can now self-register via the Poshan Tracker Web App for better accessibility.

The Poshan Tracker facilitates Anganwadi Workers in managing attendance, growth monitoring, meal distribution, and early childhood education, ensuring beneficiaries are effectively tracked and supported.

“Let’s pledge to collaborate in ensuring that every child, mother, and family in India has access to nutritious food and a healthy future,” the Minister urged. He remarked, “Access to improved nutrition today can pave the way for a brighter tomorrow,” which would transform the nation into a Healthier and Viksit Bharat.
