New Delhi, June 18 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu is set to commence a three-day journey to Uttarakhand from June 19 through June 21. During her visit, she will launch a variety of developmental and community engagement projects in Dehradun and participate in the International Yoga Day festivities.

Her base for this visit will be Rashtrapati Niketan, the presidential retreat located in Dehradun, where she will inaugurate new facilities and lay the groundwork for significant infrastructure projects.

On Thursday, the President will officially open a newly built amphitheatre at Rashtrapati Niketan and will lay foundation stones for essential staff quarters, stables, and security barracks to improve the infrastructure at the retreat.

On June 20, she will open Rashtrapati Niketan to the public and unveil several visitor-friendly amenities, including a Visitor Facilitation Centre, a Cafeteria, and a Souvenir Shop.

Additionally, she will inaugurate Rashtrapati Tapovan, a spiritual and environmental retreat on the premises, and lay the foundation for Rashtrapati Udyan, a beautifully landscaped garden area. Both Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Tapovan will welcome public visitors starting June 24.

Later that day, the President will visit the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) in Dehradun, where she will view an exhibition, tour a Model School Science Laboratory, and engage with students and faculty members.

In the evening, she will attend a special event commemorating 125 years of Raj Bhavan, Nainital, where she will unveil a commemorative postage stamp to celebrate this significant milestone.

On June 21, President Murmu will participate in a mass Yoga demonstration at the Uttarakhand State Police Line Maidan in Dehradun.

Initially, President Murmu was slated to visit Indore and Barwani in Madhya Pradesh on June 18 and 19, but this visit has been officially cancelled, as per a statement from the Indore District Collector. No reason has been given for this cancellation.
