Jaipur, Sep 26 (NationPress) A suspected Pakistani national has been detained following an incident where he reportedly fell from a train near Hastinapur, close to Keshavrayapatan station in Rajasthan, along the Kota–Sawai Madhopur railway route.

The individual, who identified himself as Irfan, claimed to hail from Alamasa village in Sindh, Punjab (Pakistan).

He was transferred to the Intelligence Police in Kota on Friday afternoon for further interrogation. Authorities discovered 1,920 euros and Rs 46,000 in cash during a search, along with several train tickets.

Among the tickets was one from Sawai Madhopur to Mumbai, along with others issued for travel from various districts in Uttar Pradesh to Sawai Madhopur.

However, no valid identification documents, passport, or visa were found in his possession.

According to police reports, Irfan sustained injuries to his head and limbs after allegedly falling from a moving train.

At the time of the incident, the Amritsar–Mumbai Golden Temple Mail was passing through the area, leading investigators to suspect he may have fallen from this train.

After the fall, he reportedly walked nearly three kilometers to Keshavrayapatan station, where police found him around 11 a.m.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajendra Kumar Meena described the situation as “suspicious” and confirmed that senior officials and intelligence agencies had been notified.

Bundi Additional SP Uma Sharma, who interrogated the suspect, stated that he was traveling in a general coach but has not disclosed details about his entry into India.

Officials noted that Irfan initially avoided questions but later acknowledged he was a Pakistani national.

His inconsistent statements have raised additional concerns about his intentions. The substantial amount of foreign and Indian currency recovered has further fueled suspicions of a possible conspiracy.

Irfan, a Pakistani youth who suffered injuries after falling from a train in the Keshavrayapatan area, admitted during questioning that he entered India illegally via the Nepal border.

According to police sources, Irfan claimed he was assigned to assassinate Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

He also disclosed that he had received Rs 10 lakh from a Pakistani terrorist organization for this mission.

However, officials stated that Irfan has continuously altered his statements, casting doubt on the credibility of his claims.

Authorities are taking this matter very seriously, with intelligence agencies investigating the potential for a larger conspiracy. Given the gravity of the situation, a Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) comprising multiple agencies has been formed to conduct the investigation.

Officials will ascertain whether Irfan is an infiltrator or a Pakistani agent. A formal case will be registered based on the investigation's findings.
