Punjab BJP chief Jakhar demands breath test before floor test in Assembly
Sunil Jakhar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab President, on Friday, 1 May demanded that a breath alcohol analyser test be conducted on all legislators inside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha before any floor test is held, calling it his primary demand amid escalating political tensions in Chandigarh. The statement came as a Special Session of the Punjab Assembly descended into acrimony, with the Indian National Congress (Congress) staging a walkout after alleging that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attended the House in an inebriated state.
