Chandigarh, March 12 (NationPress) In response to rising concerns stemming from the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region and the circulating speculation about a potential shortage of LPG cylinders, Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared on Thursday that the state government is actively monitoring the scenario to guarantee that residents have uninterrupted access to essential supplies.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state administration will not permit any form of panic, hoarding, or exploitation of consumers under any circumstances.
He pointed out that the tensions in the Gulf region have sparked rapid dissemination of rumors across India regarding a possible LPG shortage, leading to undue anxiety among the populace.
"There are false claims about an LPG cylinder shortage due to the war in the Gulf. The Punjab government is on high alert and keeping a close watch on the situation. All Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to ensure that essential commodities remain available and that citizens do not encounter any hardships," he stated.
In a stern warning against any attempts to take advantage of the situation, the Chief Minister assured that the state government would take decisive action against anyone attempting to instill panic or manipulate the supply of essential goods.
"Should anyone attempt to deceive the public by hoarding essential items or spreading false information about shortages, we will take severe and exemplary action," CM Mann affirmed.
He also made it clear that any form of black marketing or price gouging regarding LPG cylinders would be strictly prohibited, and authorities have been directed to maintain a vigilant watch over the market.
"If anyone is found involved in the black market for LPG cylinders or charging more than the regulated price, they will face stringent consequences," he added.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that he has raised this issue with the Union government to ensure a steady supply of LPG cylinders, so that the common citizens do not face any obstacles in the near future.
He reiterated the government's commitment to protecting the interests of its citizens and ensuring easy availability of essential goods for the public.
