Chandigarh, Oct 4 (NationPress) Punjab's School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced on Saturday that 71 government educators will receive the prestigious State Teacher Award 2025 during a ceremony set to take place in Sri Anandpur Sahib on October 5. This initiative is designed to recognize the commitment and exceptional contributions of these teachers to the educational framework of the state.
Bains emphasized that the government takes pride in acknowledging the crucial roles teachers play in influencing young minds, labeling them as the true architects of a promising future.
Providing further insights into the awards, the minister revealed that 55 teachers will be honored with the State Teacher Award, including 34 from Senior Secondary and 21 from Primary Schools. Additionally, 10 outstanding educators will receive the Young Teacher Award (with six from secondary and four from primary education).
Three educators will receive a Special Teacher Award, while another three will be honored with an Administrative Award for their exemplary leadership. Each recipient will be awarded a medal, shawl, and certificate of merit by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the chief guest at this state-level event.
Bains stated that the education sector has been making remarkable advancements under the state government, asserting that the state teacher award ceremony is a reflection of the AAP government's dedication to appreciating and inspiring educators, thereby promoting a culture of excellence and commitment within the education sector.
Notably, Punjab has distinguished itself as a leading performer in the Rashtriya Parakh Sarvekshan 2024 (also known as the National Achievement Survey (NAS)), underscoring its focus on learning outcomes and teacher training. Punjab has also made history as the first state in India to introduce entrepreneurship as a core subject for Class XI students, aimed at cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset among learners.
Moreover, a substantial number of students from government schools have excelled in competitive exams such as NEET and JEE Mains and Advanced, highlighting the sector's notable progress.
