Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 27 (NationPress) Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann introduced the “Easy Registry” initiative on Thursday, aiming to simplify property registration for citizens throughout the state.
The Chief Minister highlighted that for many years, the property registration process was regarded as convoluted and time-consuming, often necessitating multiple trips to Sub-Registrar offices, accompanied by delays and corruption.
He emphasized the inconvenience faced by the public, who had to visit the Sub-Registrar's office corresponding to the property's location. With the launch of the “Easy Registry” system, property registration in Punjab is now characterized by enhanced simplicity, speed, and transparency.
This innovative system will remove unnecessary delays and challenges for citizens. It is a pioneering move in India, as no other state has taken such significant steps towards streamlining property registration.
According to Mann, under this initiative, any Sub-Registrar office within a district can now register properties located anywhere within that district.
Citizens can easily draft sale deeds online or through Sewa Kendras by paying a nominal fee of Rs 500. As part of the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” scheme, residents can call 1076 to access this service.
Furthermore, complete online documentation submission will be achievable within just 48 hours, and tehsildars will no longer have the authority to raise unnecessary objections concerning property registrations.
Applicants will be given a stipulated timeframe of 48 hours for processing, and any objections raised will be escalated to the Deputy Commissioner, who will assess the validity of the objection.
Citizens will receive notifications regarding every phase of their registration process via WhatsApp, and should anyone solicit a bribe, complaints can be lodged directly through WhatsApp.
Previously, property registration could only occur at the Sub-Registrar's office that held jurisdiction over the property's location.
