Patna, Dec 26 (NationPress) The process of vacating the 10 Circular Road residence of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi in Patna has been ongoing for several days.
Even late on Thursday night, plants and personal belongings were observed being loaded onto a pickup van.
When inquired about the destination of these items, individuals present at the location were unable to provide a definitive answer.
However, sources indicate that the items are being gradually moved to the under-construction residence of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Mahua Bagh area.
It is noteworthy that on November 25, the Bihar government’s Building Construction Department issued a formal notice to Rabri Devi, instructing her to vacate the bungalow at 10 Circular Road.
A new government bungalow—Number 39 on Harding Road, Patna—has since been allocated for her use.
The bungalow at 10 Circular Road had been extensively renovated to accommodate the family’s requirements, featuring additional rooms and a conference hall for political discussions.
Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, also resides at the 10 Circular Road bungalow, while the 1 Polo Road bungalow serves mainly as his office, where his close aide Sanjay Yadav resides.
Reports suggest that the Lalu-Rabri family is transitioning to the Mahua Bagh residence, with the newly assigned bungalow—Number 39 on Harding Road—primarily designated for official duties.
This accommodation has been allocated to Rabri Devi in her role as the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council.
The state government has clarified that the previous provision allowing lifetime government accommodation for former Chief Ministers has been revoked.
Consequently, government residences are now allocated strictly based on the current constitutional or official roles held.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family have been residing at the 10 Circular Road bungalow for nearly two decades.
Following the formal notice, the process of vacating the residence is being conducted in a systematic and orderly manner.
