Should Govt Residences Be Vacated Eventually? Tej Pratap Reacts to Rabri Devi's 10 Circular Road Departure
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Dec 27 (NationPress) The political climate in Bihar is currently heated regarding the Lalu Prasad Yadav family’s departure from the former Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s official residence at 10 Circular Road in Patna.
In light of the ongoing debates, Lalu Prasad Yadav's eldest son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has voiced his thoughts, emphasizing that a government residence is not a personal asset and must be vacated eventually.
Rabri Devi, who has spent more than two decades in the government bungalow, has been provided with a new official residence by the Bihar government.
Initially, the RJD suggested that the bungalow would remain occupied, yet recent developments have seen the vacating of 10 Circular Road begin quietly, sparking renewed political discussions across the state.
Tej Pratap Yadav mentioned that should 10 Circular Road be vacated, the family would relocate to their own private residence.
He stressed that anyone living in a government property must ultimately leave it.
Following the establishment of the new government, the state Building Construction Department issued a notice to Rabri Devi on November 25, 2025, instructing her to vacate the official residence at 10 Circular Road.
When asked about the online threats he has encountered, Tej Pratap Yadav asserted that he has been receiving menacing messages on social media and has reached out to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary regarding this issue.
In addition, Tej Pratap Yadav expressed concerns about the law and order situation in neighboring Jharkhand.
This past Saturday, he visited the family of a victim in Patna following the murder of Ashutosh Kumar's brother in Jharkhand. Ashutosh Kumar is affiliated with the Bhumihar Ekta Manch.
During his visit, he accused the Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand of enabling criminals and claimed that the administration is supporting unlawful elements.
He called for the immediate apprehension of those responsible for the murder, warning that any delays would further empower criminal activities.
