New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) The Congress party's current 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar has faced significant backlash from NDA leaders, notably Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who accused Rahul Gandhi of merely propagating negativity.
Deputy CM Chaudhary emphasized, "By visiting Bihar, Rahul Gandhi has solely spread negativity. The disrespect shown to the esteemed mother of our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji from his platform starkly indicates that these individuals do not uphold democratic values. They exhibit a monarchical mentality."
The Congress’ Voter Adhikar Yatra is being conducted in response to the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative. Launched earlier this month, the yatra enjoys the backing of the INDIA bloc and has attracted notable opposition figures, including Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief and former CM of Uttar Pradesh, who participated in the yatra in Saran district of Bihar, along with M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In a dismissive reaction, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha belittled the yatra's implications.
"This yatra, which commenced from zero, will conclude at zero. They will achieve nothing," he remarked.
Thus far, the yatra has traversed multiple districts, including Gayaji, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Munger, Darbhanga, Katihar, Muzaffarpur, and West Champaran. It is set to conclude in Patna on September 1, after passing through Bhojpur.
In response to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav positioning himself as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc in Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary made another pointed remark: "I have previously stated that both Bihar’s politics and national politics share similarities. In Delhi, there is a ‘Yuvraj’ whose family dominated for 55 years. In Bihar, another aspires to become king..."
As the yatra approaches its end this Sunday, the political climate in Bihar intensifies, creating a charged pre-election atmosphere.
