Patna, May 14 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit Darbhanga in Bihar on May 15. During this visit, he will engage with youth and students as part of the Congress party's latest outreach initiative, ‘Nyay Samvad’.
This program aims to shed light on pressing issues that impact Bihar's youth, particularly concerning education, employment, and migration.
Shakeel Ahmed Khan, the Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in Bihar, announced the initiative while addressing the media in Patna on Wednesday. He stated, “Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Darbhanga on Thursday. Senior Congress leaders from across the nation will simultaneously engage with students and youth in all 38 districts of Bihar.”
Khan emphasized that Nyay Samvad will particularly benefit students from Dalit, Mahadalit, backward, and minority communities—groups most adversely impacted by the privatization of education and government neglect.
He pointed out, “Hostels for SC, ST, minority, and backward class students are in disrepair. Scholarships of even Rs 1,000 are not dispensed on time. The Bihar government promotes student credit cards and loans, but we are advocating for free education from KG to PG.”
Khan also claimed that the Sub-Plan for SC/STs is not being adequately enforced, with allocated funds remaining underutilized.
Furthermore, Khan criticized the Bihar government for allegedly undermining the reservation system and favoring private institutions over public ones, stating, “This effectively excludes underprivileged communities from higher education. The majority of migration from Bihar involves Dalits, backward classes, and minorities due to a lack of local opportunities.”
