Jaipur, Feb 11 (NationPress): In a significant move to advance electric mobility within the state, the Rajasthan government has announced the creation of a ₹200 crore e-vehicle promotion fund as part of its Electric Vehicle Policy-2022.

This initiative, which aligns with the FAME-2 (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) framework, seeks to promote the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) by providing State GST reimbursements and one-time grants to purchasers of EVs that feature advanced battery technology.

The subsidy is applicable to vehicles acquired on or after September 1, 2022 and registered in Rajasthan. However, only vehicles purchased within the state are eligible.

As per Joint Transport Commissioner Jagdish Prasad Bairwa, manufacturers of vehicles registered under FAME-2 must first register on the state's transport department portal to access the subsidy. Following registration, they are required to submit details about their EV models, including battery specifications, in accordance with FAME-2 directives.

The transport department will validate the provided information prior to allowing buyers to request subsidies via the Vahan portal. To apply for the subsidy, vehicle owners need to input the last five digits of their vehicle registration and chassis number on the portal, authenticate their identity via an OTP sent to their registered mobile phone, upload their bank information along with supporting documents (e.g., passbook front page or a canceled cheque), and submit the application for approval.

Upon verification, the subsidy amount will be directly credited to the vehicle owner's bank account. It is crucial to highlight that incentives are available only for a limited number of vehicles in each category. Vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and buyers are urged to apply promptly to take advantage of this scheme.
