Jaipur, Sep 10 (NationPress) The Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Vasudev Devnani, declared the indefinite adjournment of the fourth session of the 16th Assembly on Wednesday at precisely 4:58 pm.
The session concluded with the national anthem being played.
Devnani elaborated that this session, which commenced on September 1, comprised six sittings totaling 18 hours and 40 minutes.
The Speaker highlighted an extraordinary achievement, noting that the Assembly received timely responses to 91.5 percent of questions during the initial three sessions.
In just the fourth session, 3008 questions were submitted, comprising 1237 starred, 1770 unstarred, and one short notice question.
Of the 120 starred questions listed, 53 were orally asked and answered. Devnani revealed that 437 attention proposals were received under Rule 131, with 14 rejected and two listed for discussion.
It was noted that, for the first time, 78 percent of these motions received answers. Members submitted a total of 134 adjournment motions, with 21 admitted for discussion, featuring 17 MLAs sharing their perspectives. The session also witnessed 95 special mention motions, of which 78 were discussed in the House. Across the first three sessions, 651 proposals were made, with answers provided for 615, achieving a remarkable 94 percent response rate.
During the session, 267 slips were submitted by MLAs; 20 were selected to allow members to express their views. Legislative activities included the introduction of 7 new bills and presentation of 3 bills from the Select Committee, culminating in 10 bills passed and 1 withdrawn.
Members submitted 161 amendment proposals on various bills, with 115 accepted and 46 rejected at the secretariat level.
